In less than a week Ill be moving to a different address for a total of 4 months. Do I have to notify the gov of this? If so what would be the best way of doing that?

have you already landed as a PR? if so, no it's not necessary

are you still waiting for approval? if so, depending on where in the process you are, you may want to consider updating your address. it will not affect the processing of your application, but can help eliminate any issues having your approval paper sent to the wrong address. while it seems this is less likely to happen with the new process, it can still happen and has been a known issue in the past.

What CDNPR2014 said.

You seem to imply that this 4 months thing is a temporary move. Do you still own or have someone at the address you supplied that can alert you in case of any correspondence and / or forward it on? If so, then probably leave it, if not, then I would change the address.

Ill be moving from my moms house to my dads. Then after 4 months at my dads I will be moving out into my own place.

Then I would leave it altogether (assuming you can trust your Mum and Dad to tell you if any mail arrives for you).

as the sponsor, there's no need to update them on your address. just leave it as is.
