Hello everyone,

We received an email from IOM asking to attend an interview in islamabad. They also asked our location and contact number. This is the first email we received. Can someone please share their similar experience? Would this be an interview with Canadian immigration officers or IOM? would there be any further interviews? What type of info they need during this interview? Thank you so much!

Could be either an immigration with IOM alone or with Canadian officials as well. Have you already been told you have been selected for resettlement by IOM? That you are being resettled in Canada? Is someone sponsoring you from Canada or have you been selected as a refugee and will be supported by the Canadian governments.

It is a Private Sponsership from canada. The process is completed from Canada and case was transferred to a 3rd country where main applicant lives (Pakistan). This is the first email we got from IOM for an interview, wondering if someone had a similar experience.

Have your sponsors in Canada already been approved as sponsors. Does your application already have a number with a G in front of it? Is this part of the 40k Afghan refugees? That would be a different situation.

Yes, the sponsership eligibility is completed. It is a private sponsorship through a community organization.We already received a G and UCI number, but I really don't know if it is counted in those 40k scheme.

Did you find out who the interview was with (IOM or IRCC) and what it was about?
