Apart from the obvious fact that your sponsor is Canadian/in Canada, what else do you like about Canada that you didn't find/enjoy/feel/experience in your home country?

And what can't you stand here? The extreme cold may be? ;D

Canada is very similar to my home country Finland, so there is not much stuff that I didn't like in my home country and would like here. Summer is longer and warmer, so that is a plus!! :) Of course this is a bigger country so there is much more to explore here.

The cold doesn't bother me, because actually my home country is even colder than Canada in winter time!! Only the wind chill is horrible at times. ;)

Really?! So was the lowest ever temperature in Finland even lower than Yukon Territory's -63.0ºC??! ;D ;D ;D
LOL. I was talking about Toronto area where I live :D In Finland it's easily -20C / -25C in wintertime (the coldest periods).. I don't really see those numbers in Toronto area, only maybe once in a while. :)

Well, car insurance in Canada to mine in Finland is almost 4 times more.. Same with rent, its like double in Canada (at least Toronto). Cheese, milk and meat seems expensive to me.. and I can't seem to find good bread anywhere!! :D :D

Ditto!

I don't mind the cold - it's better than Ohio.

The biggest change for me was moving rural to urban. I hate city life. Except for public transit. I love the bus/train/not needing a car.

I love the mountains and the mountain views you can get in some parts of Calgary. Not really about "Canada" but whatever :p

I love that Canadians (so far) are very open minded, nice, and conservation minded (or more so than Americans).

I am not the principal applicant, but whenever I ask my husband about this, he doesn't really care where we end up as long as we are together. If by any chance he gets denied (hopefully not), he always tells me it's not the end of the world. He said there are lots of good places to raise a family other than Canada.

But anyway, when I first came here, I always wanted to feel snow. But now after experiencing winters, it turned out to be my most hated season. ;D

Some things I love about Canada tho:

-"safer" environment
-"better" employment opportunity (this is debatable)
-can't think of any now, maybe il post them in later

Haha! Very different topic to ease off the mind a little bit to divert it from thinking about the spousal sponsorship complications.
Though I'm not the principal applicant and I'm the sponsor I wud like to answer this. I live in Toronto and here are my thoughts.

What I like: awesome summer, decent lifestyle, good infrastructure, convenient transportation, cultural diversity giving chance to learn more about oneself
What I dont like that much: high living expenses, expensive car insurace (way high for me), not that much oppurtunities and pay-package when compared to US
What I can't stand: Extreme cold weather, when I cannot work from home during heavy snow, driving during storms with no visibility when there is no other option

I'm thankful for all the good thinks I have got and to be in Canada!
Sometimes I think that I'll have to train myself to come out of my shell to withstand the things that I don't like that much and that I can't stand!
Hope I can get adapted soon!
