PREVIOUS IMMIGRATION to Canada an adverse factor for re-immigration?

Over ten years ago, I immigrated to B.C. but had difficulty finding a job in the biological sciences. After less than a year, I settled in the U.S. where I became a permanent resident and eventually a citizen. In the meantime, I was visiting B.C. almost every year, and acceded to Canadian Immigration requests to surrender my immigration papers. Now I'm ready to move back to Canada for good. Does anyone know if my previous immigration would be an adverse factor in trying to "re-immigrate?" Thanks in advance for the help.

It's actually not that uncommon: I know at least two people who "re-immigrate" too. One "re-landed" and I believe the other one is still in the process.

Basically, it can be done.
