I received the ITA for EE last month and reached to one of my previous employers in USA for employment reference letter. Unfortunately, the HR department only agreed to sign on a letter that only contains my job title and start/end date; no further information (especially job responsibilities) was covered. They told me that's in accord with company's confidential policy. I tried to reach to my then manager in person and he also refused me for providing a letter with listed job responsibilities because of same reason. (Yuck, Wall St...)

I was working as a typical software engineer (NOC 2173). All the additional documents that I could gather are my offer letter (it doesn't have any job description!), pay stubs, tax forms and some brief introductory PDFs on my department's tasks in terms of software engineering.

Has anyone have any experience with the same issue where some previous companies just didn't provide any reference letter that meets EE's criteria? Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
