Prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in Calgary, Alberta

As Alberta Health And Wellness only covers medical consultation, as a self-employed, I need a private medical insurance that covers prescription drug, dental and vision care. Any recommendation? Alberta Blue Cross? I need a coverage that is transferrable to other provinces; just in case I need to move. Thank you.

Blue Cross is one option but I am not sure they would cover you in other provinces. If you are planning to work, most employers offer a supplementary health and dental in their benefits package. In most cases, you are paying a little for it, maybe $40 a month and you can't opt out of it so if you are planning to work, there is no point in getting Blue Cross if you will be forced to take another insurance through your employer as well and have to pay for both.
