Premit Request Declined While In Canada

Hi all,

I'm currently in Canada and my study permit is currently being processed in the LA VAC. My visitor status will expire by November 15. I understand that I will be under implied status if I don't receive word on my permit by then.

I want to ask if anyone knows what happens if my study permit is denied, and I get my passport back by November 20? How do I know when I can legally stay in Canada?
