Dear skogutem,

Out nd out a well researched and precise observation!!!!

If we corelate ur obsevation with the ongoing market surveys -more importantly forthcoming MI4 - the emergent circumstances may call for what u have concluded.

Can u please post ur opinion about those cases which have been turned to "IN PROCESS" without specifc start date.I am loooking for ur observation,please.HOW WOULD U CATAGORISE THEM ?

I am not very sure on In Process with RBVO details but they are In Process just that VO did not mention the date.

If you observe the CIC website for steps in the application process.

The diagram explains each step in the application process, see the below:

In Process = Based on review of your complete application package, it has been determined that your application is eligible for processing. Processing has begun

However In Process with Date and In Process with RBVO details are same but subject to detail verification.

There are people in this forum in “In Process with date” from past 2 years and People with “In Process” with RBVO details from 1.5 years.

In Process has two internal VO stages:

1, High level review – experience, qualification, funds etc… (In high level review you may secure with 67 points)

2, Low level review – compare experience with the respective NOC job description and compare qualification with the respective experience. (You may get 67 or more or less points)
Example: For an XYZ NOC need Finance with Reconciliation experience with Qualification as B.Com but you may be working in an Bank or Financial company as data entry officer. This is not matching the NOC requirement so you lose points here.


Note: this is only my observation and thoughts, I may not be right as well.

1. IN PROCESS WITHOUT START DATE: Implies that background check is complete.(REWEWAL PART IS OVER).
2. IN PROCESS WITH START DATE : Implies that process for ascertaining genuinness of supporting docs
has been initiated from the start date.

Can it be also be interpreted that once "IN PROCESS" means passage of main hurdle,subject to quality of supporting docs ? Please post ur opinion.

2. IN PROCESS WITH START DATE : Implies that process for ascertaining genuinness of supporting docs
has been initiated from the start date.

Yes, but not in all the cases.

There are few applicants who got the “In Process with date” but later it changed to DM without medicals. See this link:

It is just unbelievable my status was changed to DM from RBVO on 27th Feb. I feared rejection
Just now I have received an email asking for the following documents for submission

Application for Permanent Residence IMM0008 form for the principal applicant.
* Updated Schedule A Background/ Declaration form for yourself and each family member over the age of 18.
* Updated Schedule 3 Federal Skilled Worker form for the principal applicant

Photographs of all family members

Payment of PRF

copies of passport

Updated police certificates

But interestingly no Medicals as yet what does it mean

Please help me.

Send the documents soon ans I think u will get ur medical soon as they have asked u to deposit RPRF.

I had ordered CAIPS when my status was in process with RBVO and in that no Paper Screening was done. The only points I got was for my age.

Hence my observation states that In process without start date is just RBVO.

Maybe someone will have different opinion based on their CAIPS, but in my case it was just RBVO.

When date is added it means that papers screening is done and points are alloted.
Background checks are done after that.

it has not come back yet but

my status changed to in process on febraury 22 2012 saying this

We received your application for permanent residence on November 18, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on February 22, 2012. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on February 22, 2012.

does this mean i should be getting MR soon

i applied on april 27 2010

received letter having to send full document on july 20 2010

sent full document on nov 18 2010

received letter AOR on May 12 2011

and on feb 22 2012 my ecas changed to in process
