Dear all
I need some advice. We recently got our Canadian PR and were thinking of moving to Toronto by Feb 2013 end. We recently found out my wife is pregnant. The baby is due first week of July.
Now I understand that OHIP doesn't kick in until the first three months of landing. I was wondering what will be the best option for us during our first three months to get my wife covered for doctors visits, scans and prenatal classes etc .
Please share your thoughts and advice. Much appreciated.
Cheers
AshB.

Correct - you and your wife won't be covered by OHIP until you have lived in Canada for three months.

Travel insurance does not cover costs related to pregnancy - so you will have to pay for all doctors visits, scans, classes, etc. out of pocket (i.e. yourself) during the three month waiting period.
