Hi ,I'm the principal applicant and my PR papers are under process.I have no kids but planning to have one soon.

I would like to know if it's ok to be pregnant during first landing in Ontario and deliver there then return back to home country with the child?

Yes that is fine to have the baby after landing but be prepared to pay for the delivery and any associated costs given it takes 3 months to qualify for OHIP. The child will be a Canadian citizen so you would also need to take that into account in returning to your home country as far as travel documentation goes.

Plus of course you need to keep in mind that you (not the child) need to continue to meet the residency obligation of accumulating 2 years residency in Canada out of the first 5 years from landing. You cannot claim the exemption accompanying a Canadian citizen outside Canada which does not apply if the citizen is a minor.

Thanks for your reply. So again I would like to clarify that being pregnant while first landing would not be misinterpreted by cic at any cost and hopefully there would be no scrutiny with immigration officer at the airport.

Yes I'm prepared to pay the cost for the delivery since I can't stay back 3 months to get the OHIP since il need more days to stay post delivery for the child's paper work.

Just a quick addition; on top of waiting 3 months for coverage, you would also need to reside for 183 days a year for coverage to apply or you could expect to be back charge for healthcare costs.
