Hello,
I am Really hoping that someone can help me.
Here is my story.
I was recently detained for 5 days. CBSA presented me with the praa paper work.
I contacted duty counsel and they told me to sign the paper work or I would remain in jail. I signed the document based on the advise of the duty counsel. I was scared and was not in the right frame of mind. I am at risk if I am returned to my home country. CBSA has advised me that they are going forward with a removal order in the next couple of weeks. I am currently being sponsored by my Canadian wife, unfortunately I was out of status when the application was submitted.
My time is running out and I am in desperate need of help.

You may be better off posting your question in the Family Sponsorship section of the forum. I believe we've seen a couple of cases similar to yours and you'll get better advice there.

When you post in that section, you'll need to include additional details such as how you've been sponsored (inland or outland), when the application was submitted and if you were already out of status when it was submitted, and what communication you've received from CIC so far regarding your application (e.g. if you applied inland, do you have AIP yet).

Are you a refugee?

I did not claim refugee, because my wife is sponsoring me.
I do have serious risk to my life if I return home.
The inland officer is aware of this, but will not review the evidence I submitted in that regard.
We hired a lawyer to complete the paper work for us when we got married in 2013, but the lawyer was a fraud and that is why I was left without status.

Well the best option i can think of is, ask your wife to see a lawyer asap. I believe if lawyer provides documents to boarder, they will let u in canada.
But again it depends totally on lawyer how he handle the case

Your lawyer was a fraud?

Applying for refugees takes time for months. Hopefully you can get your answers in Family Sponsorship sub forum.
