PR vs Canadian Citizenship

Hello All,

How does a person get a canadian passport?
Does it get it after completing 730 days out of 5 years of valid Permanent Residency or needs something else?
Meaning what does a person need to have a canadian citizenship and passport?

To become Canadian citizens, adults must have lived in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) in the past four years before applying.

1. Get PR

2. Live in Canada for 1095 days as a PR, must be within a 4 year period. Vacations outside Canada do not count towards the 1095 days.

3. Apply for citizenship.

4. Wait for a long time, maybe a year before you get called for a citizenship exam.

5. Pass the exam.

6. Wait to be called for oath.

7. Attend your oath.

8. Apply for passport.

9. Wait to get passport, couple of weeks if you don't pay the extra fee for expedited processing.

Did you also check the "spam" folder. Sometimes is there.

3 weeks left in my job as last working day is 31st March 2011.
Then 2 weeks to send the documents and then start praying.

WIll keep you posted.

One advice to everyone is. Immigration officers seem to be understanding and all a person has to be is truthful and straight forward. Do not hide anything but at the same time only answer what is asked for. Nothing less, nothing more.

you basically rent a room, because most apartments want at least 3-6 months it is true

you pay in the website a 10 percent of the total stay and the rest you pay to the person once you are there


or you can go on craigslist vancouver, rooms /shared, most go for month to month
