Pre-Assessed..
Can someone please give me some answers to a few questions I have regarding the PR Visa documents?

1. On document IMM 5490 SPONSORED SPOUSE/PARTNER QUESTIONNAIRE there is a questions about gifts. It asks is either of us gave each other gifts, does this mean eveything we have given, or just the important items we have exchanged?

2. Can we use scanned documents to submitt to the embassy or does it have to be a signed original document?

3. When we have our interview are we allowed to have reference paperwork with us in the meeting, or do we have to remember all the details ourselves?

Any information is appreciated and thanks for your time.

1) Significant gifts. I think this is to give an indication to the VO of the depth of relationship.
2) No. Orginal signed forms only.
3) I think you can take anything that you require in, but if you can't remember personal details without reference, it's not going to look good.

Note that the question regarding gifts is really geared towards applicants from countries where it is part of tradition to formally give gifts when getting engaged/married.

THANK GOD. I was just going through my application to see if there was a question we stupidly missed or a form we failed to see! We applied inland, so... Sometimes I get so paranoid browsing this forum.

IMO, it would look bad if you brought in reference papers (a.k.a cheat sheets) to the interview, because as a married couple, you guys should remember important dates, facts about each other, family members' names, etc. I read a couple cases on Canlii.org where the VO refused the cases because they were concerned about seeing the applicant carrying cheat sheets.
