Hi there,
I have applied for the Canadian PR last June 2014 .Following that I have done my medicals too on July. But in the meantime in January I went back home and got married. After that I added my spouse name to my passport which resulted in getting a new passport with a new number.I already inform about all of these and asked them for advice. But after 2 months they have replied me that my file was moved to Ottawa already and gave me their Email ID. I have sent them an email on February first week.I haven't get any reply them yet. Also my PR online application status is still "Application Received".Now my concerns are,

1)Can I add my spouse to my application and bring her to Canada? I f yes should I wait for the official notification from CIC and send documents only when they ask me to do so?

2) Will getting a new passport be considered as a major update and delay my application so badly??

I am kind of panic now.
If someone can answer this or someone really went through this same situation please post their advice and opinions....

Thanks.

1) you must add your spouse in your application by sending her documents, forms and the processing fee etc before your application get finalized. if you haven't yet notified CIC (the office who is handling your case) about your marriage/wife and your application get finalized then you may face serious problems like you will never be able to sponsor your wife in future and it is considered as a misrepresentation

- your current PR application which is under process MUST have your updated information about your wife before it gets finalized.
- if you want CIC to process your wife PR at the same time you need to send them all the relevant documents and fee. In such a case you both may get PR status at the same time.
-if you choose not to process her PR at this time you still have to add her in your application as non-accompanying and she will still be undergoing all the process like medical, criminal and background check etc.
- if you get your PR as single you will have NO option to sponsor your wife in future.

2) getting new passport is not a major change/update. yes your marriage is forsure a major update which MAY or MAY NOT delay your process.
