PR Status Working Abroad

Hi,

I currently have PR status (due to expire Jul. 18/10) and I am hoping to apply for a new card and Canadian citizenship at the same time. I am working for a Canadian company however at one of their satellite sites in Africa. Does anyone know if this will affect anything?

Unless you were hired in Canada by the company and then transferred to an overseas operation, it will not preserve your PR status. If you were hired by the CC company and transferred abroad, the time abroad doesn't count for citizenship.
