PR rules to be changed IMP

There are Some Rumors that from April 2011 , the students who will to go Canada on study permit will only be able to file for PR from India. and other rules are also modified. Meaning that the student who goes to study in Canada after April 2011 , if have to apply for PR have to come to India and file from India.
It is known to be an issue in Canada only, and they have not disclosed yet. And moreover there will be no extension to be given for work permit i.e if a person goes for 1yr study , gets 1 yr work permit and no extension in WP and 2 yr study gets 3 yr WP ( good for people going for 2 yr study).


Does anybody have anything useful information on this issue? Give some information Admins?

I have not heard of any new rules underway, stating that students can not apply for PR from within Canada if they qualify. As for the post grad work permit not being extended, that is the way it is now. If you study only for one year, you can only get a one year work permit. This permit can not be extended. If you wish to continue working after that, you must apply for a regular work permit, tied to employer, like any other person who wants to work in Canada. It is therefore wise if you are planning to immigrate to take a 2 year program so you can get a 3 year work permit. This will give you more time to apply and can qualify you to apply under CEC.
