Hi!
My spousal PR application has been accepted, and is being processed.

I received multiple letters with instructions to submit a work permit request (I did), pay residence fee (I did), have medical exam (I did) and submit biometrics: I am currently visiting family in the US and made an appointment at a VFS center, but I have no letter with a barcode to present in order to have them taken.

I can't find any number to call and I know that the response time for website enquiries is months.

I have now 15 days left to give biometrics!! Where can I call to request the letter??

Thank you!!
Hope

So how did you get the biometrics request?

ALL the instructions letters I received, include a paragraph with a reminder to give biometrics, a link with instructions about where to go and how to proceed. But I never received the actual instructions letter I need.

When I was in Canada, the updates also said NOT to go to Service Canada until instructed, due to covid.

Did you by chance provide biometrics in the past, for example when applying for a tourist visa? If so, you may not need to.

At any rate: there is no deadline that applies to you for biometrics uniless/until you get the biometrics letter.

To double check go to your GCKey account and see what it says there under biometrics.

Thank you, but I was unable to link my paper application sent to Mississauga to my online profile. I am pretty sure I gave biometrics in 2016 for the first tourist visa.

The lady at the VFS told me, however, they need to be linked to the F000 application.

Just wait until you get the biometrics instruction letter. Right now it is highly likely that your previous biometrics is enough and you won't need to provide this time around. (It did not work like this before but is a policy during covid - so some of the messages from IRCC about the biometrics aren't fully reflecting this temp policy)
