Hello, I will be needing to renew my PR card in May 2021 (as it will expire in Jan 2022). The reason I want to renew early is b'cos I need to go back to home country for some time and due to pandemic travel chaos not sure if I can do back and forth this year as well.
I will have completed 730 days of residency requirements by May 2021. I am a sole primary applicant - no dependents.

I have few questions ---
1) I would like to know if not being employed in the last 5 yrs affects the PR application??

2) I read an Appendix clause on the immigration website -
Minimum residency obligations
You must meet the residency obligation to get a PR Card.
If you have been a permanent resident for five (5) years or more
  • you must have been physically present in Canada for a minimum of 730 days within the past five (5) years.
If you have been a permanent resident for less than five (5) years
  • you must show that you will be able to meet the minimum of 730 days of physical presence in Canada within five (5) years of the date you became a permanent resident.
Does this mean I need to show proof of funds for next 5 years?

Thank you
