Hello,
I am about to apply for the renewal of my PR card for the first time. I was not aware that I need to account for every absence from Canada in the past 5 years.
I leave Canada to visit my family in the states at least twice a year and only for a week or two maximum. I travel by car as it is only a 6 or 7 hour drive so my passport does not get stamped. How accurate do I need to be here? It's quite impossible for me to remember exactly what day I left and what day I came back every time I left the country. Not sure what to do here...
Please help!!

Thanks in advance.

Ideally the dates should be 100% accurate. Can you look through old emails to see if you have a record of when you visited your family in the US?

You can order your travel history from CBSA. This should show all of your entries into Canada.

No, I really don't have any e-mails or anything that would give me exact dates.
How would I go about requesting that information from CBSA? Not sure where to go on the website or do I need to call?

You can find the info on how to order your travel history from CBSA here: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/agency-agence/reports-rapports/pia-efvp/atip-aiprp/req-dem-priv-eng.html

In case CBSA is missing some of your trips, you can also order your records from the US here: http://www.uscis.gov/about-us/freedom-information-and-privacy-act-foia/how-file-foia-privacy-act-request/how-file-foiapa-request
