PR on short term study basis for IT prpfessional

Hi,

I am an indian student doing my full time MBA from UK university (ranked in top 30 world wide for MBA). My college has 3 months (Aug 2011 to Dec 2011) exchange program with Rotman (University of Toronto) and McGill univeristy in Canada. I want to apply for PR for Canada, please suggest me.

I have 5 yeras of experience as an IT professional in India with IBM.

1. Which college should i choose. From which college it will be easier to get PR
2. Should i apply PR from UK or should i apply for PR when i am in Canada

1. The school you select will have no impact on a PR application.

The short term study in Canada will not qualify you for PR.

Should i apply now or when i will be in Canada. I have not completed my MBA yet.

I can't tell you if you should submit the application before or after. You really need to review the links I provided first to determine if you qualify and have sufficient points to apply for immigration. Typically you need a few years of work experience before you can apply.

Keep in mind that it will take you some time to put your application together (i.e. collect the supporting documentation, take the required English tests, etc.) and it will take many months to a few years for the application to be processed once it's submitted.

Both schools are excellent.

McGill is in Montreal, and while the program is in English, you will find a sizeable population who are French speaking, so it may come down to if you would be comfortable in your day-to-day life (grocery store, shopping etc) dealing with some French only speaking situations. There are many anglophones in Montreal, but this is just something to be aware of.
