PR obligations

Hi All,

Would like to have your expert opinion regarding our case.

We landed in Toronto last Feb 18, 2014 and left March 5, 2014.
I would say thats 15 days inside Canada.

Our PR cards will expire on April 17, 2019.

We plan to settle down permanently by March 2, 2016.

Questions;

1. Can we still satisfy the RO obligation given that we will be back in Canada by Mar 2,2016?

2. Will the IO officer start counting the days outside Canada On the day we landed which is Feb 18, 2014 or March 5, 2016, the day we left?

As you only need 2/5 years in Canada in order to satisfy the RO, you will have more than enough time if you return after 2 years outside.
