Dear Members, We applied last year for FSW, and have received notification to do medicals. The question I have relates to events further down the road if the application is successful, specifically to PR obligations.

I currently have a job in my current country of residence that pays well. My wife is a home-maker. If the application is successful and post-landing (all of us do this), my wife and kids (only, but not me) stay in Canada for the required period to be eligible for Citizenship (which i understand to be 4 years), would that fact that I have not completed my PR obligations be a hinderance to the family being eligible to apply for Citizenship?

As a principal applicant, you must land with or before your family. After that, there is no principal applicant anymore so they can stay and apply for citizenship while you can stay outside and eventually lose your PR without affecting their status.
