Dear Sir,

I have a PR card expiring in Jan 2013. I am not completing the minimum obligation required for renewal. But I have a family (Wife & Kids) staying in Canada whose PR card also expires in 2013.

I want to travel on visit for a month to meet them - but will definitely be questioned and then most probably be stopped by VISA/Immigration officer for not completeting the obligation and hence may refuse entry.

I want to visit my family - what is the way out?

They can not refuse you entry. Worst case, they will report you for not meeting the requirements and allow you into Canada for 30 days to make your appeal. If you don't appeal, you will lose your PR but your wife can sponsor you again.

If the wife is PR and it living in Canada, she can sponsor the husband for PR again. The processing time depends on the country where he resides or of his nationality. It can be from a few months to a couple of years.
