Congrats FULLOFSUNSHINE... And thanks for sharing...
And Yes, Carway officers seem to be expressing their non-desiredness to do the Landing work, amidst their other jobs.
But when we talk with CIC, they say Landing IS ALSO one of their duty to take care of.

UJBABY - TORONTO AIRPORT
just wanna thank everyone here in this forum who contributed to my success. finally the war is over and I landed today with my dependants. very proud to be a Canadian resident . The officer took our passports and copr and no further documents required. she handed us back the copr and kept the one with our passports photos attached on it. she crossed out our immigrants visas and told us to expect pr cards in the mail between 6-8 wks. the whole process lasted for less than 10 mins. guess airport landing is a way too easy than border. feeling very fulfilled today. Thanks all

Hello Guys,

I'm finally back after a weekend trip to get the landing done! It was fairly quick on the canadian side as they only asked if everything in the COPR is correct and they went over my address. The americans, funny enough, asked way more questions - things related to my citizenship status and my work. The whole process was around 35mins. The canadian officer didn't require any documentation beside my passport and the COPR and didn't take my study/work permits either.

Overall it was fairly easy and simple.

Thank you all for the help and the advice and best of luck for everyone else going in the process!

Congrats to all who landed recently....

May I know one thing seniors?

Landing at a border security office like peace bridge, fort erie on a weekday is better or weekend also should be fine? Any recommended timings to be there by so and so time to complete landing process early?

Thank you.....I am sorry if this question was already answered in any other thread !

I don't know if weekday is better than weekend, but definitely plan to go earlier in the day.

Landing at Peace Bridge has so far been very smooth for all the applicants on this forum. I dont think there is any particular time you have to go but just try to avoid office timings and long weekends to avoid traffic on QEW. All the best.

camellochapin - Coutts, AB
•Got our passports back from Ottawa on Wednesday afternoon
•We left Calgary, AB on the same Wednesday at 7:00pm
•Due to heavy traffic in Calgary we arrived at Coutts border (US side first) at 10:20pm but a huge cue of cars/trucks in front of us
•10:40pm we got the letter from the US Immigration officer informing us about the denied access into the USA and got escorted back to the Canadian side of the border (this is 100% normal procedure... I even thought that mentioning the term "Flagpoling" wouldn't be a good idea... guess what?!?! you are not the only one doing it, it is the "official/un-official" term for what we did)
•10:50pm our turn with the Canadian Immigration officer and after some compulsory question and answers...
•11:10pm... we were granted our 100% Canadian Permanent Residence

Flagpoling is perfectly normal, legal and both Immigration officers know about it... and nothing wrong about getting the "weird" letter from the USA officer. This has to be handed over to the Canadian officer on your arrival to the office.

immigration officer didn't ask for any extra documents but our passports and the "denial access" letter from the USA officers.

The work permits... we even didn't show them to him, he just strikedthrough the one-entry resident visa stamped on our passports and done!

Then he goes through the questions in the CoPR letter asking for criminal actions, etc... "initial here, sign here, date here... done!"

It's extremly simple, no questions asked and he even provides you a sheet of paper stating your right to become canadian citizen, reminder about updating SIN and alberta health care records... and voilá, you're out!

To avoid driving tired at night back to Calgary, we booked a small Motel in Lethbridge arriving aprox at 12:30am.. and early next day we drove back to Calgary, right into a Canada Services office to get the new SIN!

indebt - fort frances ON
here is my landing experience. i landed at fort frances border yesterday, a small town in northern ontario, and the immigration officer seemed a little confused and told me that landing process is not a common thing in this office (although i checked in the cbsa website and this office do offer immigration services). i think i am the first one to do landing here. anyway, i handed him my passport and copr, he looked at it, went to the computer and he printed some info sheet (i think it was a guide for him on how to go about the process) and he read it for a few minutes. then he confirmed some details that was on the copr and everything seemed correct so we went on to sign the copr. he gave me my copy, retained the cic copy and told me that he would send that to cic office. i asked him about the PR card and he read again the sheet that he printed and told me that cic would mail it to me. i asked him if there's anything else i need to do, he told me that's it and i'm good to go.

now im just a little concerned that he missed a step or something, coz he seemed a little confused with the whole landing process. my question is how long after you land would the ecas status change from decision made to complete? i checked my ecas status and it still says decision made. i dont know if the officer at the border needs to input something on the computer, or is that something cic office would do after they received the signed copr from the immigration border office? i dont want to wait and wait for my PR card to arrive only to find out that it wasn't processed correctly.

Can anyone share their landing experience in Vancouver

Thanks
I also would like to hear some more experiences of Landing in Vancouver. I have just heard of two people who had problems with the border officers making error's in paperwork and that causing delays. Can anyone tell us is there anything we can look out for on the form to make sure it is all correct while we are there? I am planning on doing my landing in a couple weeks and hoping it all goes smoothly!

Thanks!

Feb 15th 2014
I successfully landed in Carway on Saturday, Feb 15, 2014. Here is my experience:

First of all, I drove from Fort McMurray to Calgary on Friday and reached Calgary around 6.00pm and We decided to drive right away to Carway same evening - Bad Idea.
I went there and reached the border after 2.5 Hours and there was a bog line up of Canadians entering the US with OUR Canadian Flags in their car - I guess they were travelling for a game or something. I spent around 30 Minutes in the line up next to the Canadian border before entering the US. Due to the delay, I stopped my car and went inside the Canadian Border to talk to the officer about my landing. He then told me that the immigration was closed at 6.30pm and I have to come back in the morning between 7.00am to 6.00pm. I was disappointed as I thought it was open until 11.00pm.

It was actually open until 11.00pm but for landing (Immigration) purposes I had to be there between 7am to 6pm. So I returned to Calgary that night.

Next day, I again reached the border during the day, there were less traffic to the US. I also noticed a couple who were in the line up and they made a u-turn without entering the US Border to head back to the Canadian border. After a few minutes, I saw them again coming back to the US Border line up. I asked them if they were here for Landing and they said yes, and that it was not possible to complete the landing without entering the US Border. This is a formality they had to undergo or else, they won't be able to complete the Landing - They were advise so.

So after few minutes, I reached the US Border and the office himself asked me without me asking anything:" You guys are here for Canada Landing purposes?' I said yes, and he asked us to park and come binside the office. He kept our passports. After again few minutes spent inside, another office came with a letter and our passports and told us that we were good to go back to Canada. So when I reached the canadian border again, I handed the passport and the COPR and the US Letter to the officer and he asked us to park and come inside the building. Please note that there was just a few cars parked in the parking spot at the canadian border. So i went inside. There; i saw 4 people who had their canada Post xpress enveloppe with them and guess what? They aere all there to do the landing.

So we sat down for 15 minutes and the officer called our names and we went there. She handed us a letter to read about being Canadian, about SIN stuffs, etc... and again after 10 Minutes she called us back. She was rewally nice but also stated that if we knew that there were Immigration offices in Calgary and Edmonton who would complete our landing? I said no. And safter verifying our details and confirming our addresses, we signed the COPR and she attached it to our passports. And she said " You are now Permanent residents and you are good to go"... We were so happy... We headed back to Calgary singing ... lol
