Bonjour,

I am a PR and currently working in Quebec. Recently moved to Canada.

I have my PR card & Quebec Health Card.

I am single and have a white collar job.

1. What are the other benefits I can apply for? Like a Pension card or Pension fund with the province/federal govt?
2. What other identity cards can I get apart from Health card and Driving License? Library card? ( I don't want fishing card as I don't fish)
3. Are there any other schemes or benefits I should be aware of?
4. If I become un-employed (like a layoff), does government pay me something?

Regards

1. What is a pension card…tell me more. You pay into the Canadian pension plan and it is deducted off of pay-check.
2. Library card is municpal. Why do you need identity cards?
3. Schemes? Sounds sinister. If you make a certain amount you can invest money in TFSA and RRSP. Your tax return/NOA will state how much you can invest.
4. Only if you are eligible and based on the number of hours you have worked. It doesn’t cover much.
