I would like to know how long would be a PR holder allowed outside Canada?

When would be the counting starts? First landing in Canada or the expiry date on PR card?

Hope to hear from your expert and experienced opinion... :) thank you

3 yrs from the date of landing

simply take it as .......you can stay three out of five years to be able to sustain your PR status. Thats what the CIC says. Although few seniors are of the view that even if you manage to enter Canada even after spending four years outside instead of three, you just spend another year there and can apply for PR renewal. So as per them card expiry does not at all impact on your residence status.

sorry but still not clear with me...
i just wanted to know when it would be the counting starts? from the expiration from the PR Card or from the first day of landing in Canada?

Please expert opinion pls... thnx :) :) ;) :(

The counting starts from the day you landed.

Once you have landed, you must live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 rolling years to keep your PR status.
