Question,

If my PR is granted, lets say in November, can I land and then leave Canada for a short stay e.g. planned Christmas vacation in the Caribbean or for instance if my PR is granted next year say june but i have a work contract that ends in July, can I land and then leave after a few days to just finish up the end of my work contract e.g. a two weeks?

Are there any hard and fast rules or the immigration will just give me trouble seeing that i landed and left so quickly BUT i returned quickly too?

you're completely fine to leave but you'll need to have some way for your PR card to be mailed to you so you can come back in without a hassle. If you are crossing by car its fine without a PR card but all other entries you'll need it!

The only requirement is that you stay 730 days out of 5 years to maintain your status. They don't care if you leave immediately as long as there is an address to send your card.

Great!!!!!!! :) my only worry is that i wont get the PR card before i go on this christmas vacation and then have problems to re enter. i could probably get my husband to fed ex to me and rejoin him a month later. If it comes through just before the end of my work contract next year i want to finish the contract as I get a lumpsum payment for completion of contract and that is enough money to put in for school or piece of downpayment for a home.

thanks!
