Hi guys,
As soon as I received my PR I went home for my nephew's birth. Moved to Italy for 2 years to process my Italian citizenship then moved to the UK for 3 years. I am going back to Canada in 2 weeks (beginning of October 2016) and my PR expires in FEB 2017. I haven't returned to Canada since I left and I'm quite scared but want to move back for good. What's your opinion? I understand I may be stopped by Immigration at the airport but I have friends and will have the support to find a job and restart my life.

You'll be allowed back into Canada. However it's possible that you may be reported for failing to meet the residency obligation. If you are NOT reported, then you should remain in Canada for two years straight (without leaving) before you apply to renew your PR card. If you ARE reported at the border, you will have to appear at a hearing to argue why you should be allowed to keep your status. Unless you have very strong H&C reasons, you should expect your PR status to be revoked and to be ordered to leave Canada.
