my parents pr status expired 6 years ago and the never got back to canada.....now they want to go back to canada....can anyone help how they can go back to canada

They need to apply for a PRTD or get a US visa and cross the border in a non commercial vehicle (or walk). You should expect them to be reported for not meeting RO in the past 5 years and their permenent residence status reviewed (and potentially revoked).

What's their reason for violating the residency obligation? If it's not a valid H&C reason, then most likely anything they attempt will end up in their PR status being revoked.

well there is a reason that my father was having a established business back home and he was very emotionally attached to it

if suppose i apply for prtd what should i write in the # 15 of the form which asks me that how many days he has spent in canada in the last 5 years as from last 6 years he has been in india but from 2006 to 2010 he was in canada with some minor absences

That is in general not a valid H&C reason. Choosing the business over his residency obligation was a personal choice he made. Ultimately the decision is up to IRCC, but in my opinion most likely a PR TD will be rejected and process started to revoke his PR status.

Time spent in Canada from 2006 - 2010 is not relevant. The only time that will really matter now is the past 5 years.

yeah i understand that was there personal choice but i myself my wife and my both children will be in canada and we dont want them to live alone in india....as no one here will take care of them...could visa officer take this as a reason

This will probably not make any difference. The issue here is their own violation of the RO, not whether you want them in Canada to take care of them.

I would still expect PR TD to be rejected and process started to revoke PR status.

2006 - 2010 is irrelevant. Just fill in the past 5 years if that is all their asking for.

+1 Agreed.

Your parents reasons for not meeting RO are highly unlikely to provide an opportunity for H&C. The fact you and your family are in Canada is irrelevant as it's the individuals responsibility to meet the very generous requirements for RO. I'd be prepared for the PRTD to be rejected and IRCC to start the revocation process.

Would probably be faster to withdraw their PR and either apply for supervisa or the lottery.
