I got an email from the CIC stating this and i quote,
"Although you have indicated that you have Arranged Employment, there is insufficient evidence on file indicating that you will be employed permanently upon receiving permanent resident status.

The letters from company A and company b were reviewed. These letters do not specify that your job offer is permanent. As well, the occupation listed on the letter from Company A does not meet the 0, A or B skill level requirements of Regulation 82(2)a of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).

Since you did not provide evidence that you are a candidate under the Ph. D stream, you do not meet the requirements of the Ministerial Instructions and your application is not eligible for processing."
Am in IT but contract finished and i was working as a customer service person at company A and a freelance interpreter for company b, my work permit expires in December 31. I applied under the Federal Skilled worker in July. Also i have a brother who is canadian what are my options and can extend my work permit?

Thank you

If you can qualify for a new work permit, of course you can extend your work permit. The PR rejection isn't going to make you ineligible for a work permit, although you will need to inform CIC of your prior application's rejection now (it's in the new work permit forms).

As for PR, it would seem you have several options:

- You could wait until January 2013 when the new rules take effect and apply then without an offer of arranged employment;
- You could get an offer of arranged employment. Make sure it is HRSDC vetted, so you won't get a rejection on those grounds again
- You could continue working in Canada (legally) in a NOC 0, A or B job, so you can qualify in the CEC (note that the requirements for CEC are changing next year as well, making it easier to qualify)
- You could check and see if there is a PNP program under which you might qualify.

I'm sure there are other less likely options beyond that even (you could go get your Ph.D., or you could marry a Canadian Citizen/PR, etc.)

Good luck!

Thank you Computergeek....I have some questions so can apply to extend my work permit 2 weeks before its expires or 3 months before, also what chances do i have applying for a work permit extension with a customer service job or an IT job? How long will the application take?

Thank you once more!

As long as your employer has an LMO for your position, you can apply any time prior to the expiration of your current work permit. Note that it takes 2-4 months to get an LMO at the present time. The details of obtaining a positive LMO will depend entirely upon the position and the availability of legal Canadian residents to work in the job.

Hello again,

Is it possible to extend a PGWP even though i do not have a job as i am currently job searching? Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated. My PGWP expires in December 30 2012.

Thanks

It's not possible to extend a PGWP. If you want to continue working, you'll need to find an employer who is willing to offer you a job and obtain an approved LMO.

Ok thank you so what i can do to stay or remain in Canada? Are there other options aside from that?

Thank you!!

Did you submit HRSDC s AEO approval for your arranged employment, or only the letters from Employers?

Not yet, will submitting the AEO from my previous employer help when applying for the PGWP extension? Also what advice can you give me on what legal thing to do? My colleagues have been encouraging me to marry my Canadian girl friend but i dont want to marry her for the sake of papers, i just want to do this the legal way. Thank you
