Hello,

June 18 we received an email from officer asking us to provideour new work permit he gave us 1 week which is till June 25 to provide the work permit, but our consultant asked him if he can extend the time frame to 2nd week of July instead of June 25, 2nd week of July came and still waiting for the work permit so he refused it. The current processing time of work permit inside Canada is 106 days and we are on 112 days because it started March 27. Anyway our pathway to pr is Alberta opportunity stream.

So my question is can we apply for reconsideration once we get the work permit? From the date we received the refusal how long do we have to apply for appeal or reconsideration? Thank you in advance for answering.

The requirement is that you have a valid work permit. So it makes sense that your application was refused.

Suggest you post to the PNP section for further support.

But the thing is he gave us extended time frame till 2nd week of July so maybe we can ask for reconsideration once we get the work permit?

You could have provided proof to the officer that you applied for wp before your old one expired. under S.186(u) you're legally allowed to stay and work under the same conditions until a decision is made on your work permit extension.

The big question is: did you apply for wp extension at least one month before your old wp expired?

Yes we did. Still waiting for work permit. Can we go to border to get work permit with implied status?

It depends, if you have a valid multiple entry not expired TRV then you can, work permit implied status does not allow re-entry itself.
