Calgary here I come!!
Hi if we are landing by plane, do we apply for PR card after we landed or it will be automatically sent to us. Do we need to fill up forms again to apply and can we use a different passport photo as compared to the ones that we use on the pr application.

Assuming that you can provide a Canadian address at the time of landing, your PR card will be automatically sent to you. You can't use a different photo from the one on the COPR that you land with. The earliest opportunity to change photos would be at renewal I believe.

We did our landing on 20th March and left Canada on 3rd April. We were advised by the immigration officer that PR would be mailed to us on the given address within 4 to 6 weeks. It's almost 50 days have passed but we have not received PR. What shut we do in this situation ?

50 days is not that long for the first PR card. Mine took over 60 to arrive after landing in November.
I suggest that you hang in there for a while longer before you start to worry too much.
You may well be able to log into ECAS as the Principal Applicant and see the PR card application as well.

I am planning to land Toronto in August 2014 (from Pakistan). Would I need to apply for PR card on airport or after landing/coming out of airport by mail? And how much time normally they take to send PR card ?

1. It is processed at the time you "land". 80 days + mailing time.

When you land, immigration officer will do all the paperwork for PR and will ask for the address.
Make sure you have the address where you will be staying or the mailing address.

i have another question, say....the pr card will only be received in 70days time to the stated canadian address.
however once landed for a month, i flew back to my home country to settle the loose ends for 3 months and return to canada to be there for good. Will there be any problems at the airport , without the pr card?

It depends. Do you hold a visa exempt passport or a non visa exempt passport? If you hold a visa exempt passport, you should have no issues. If you hold a non-visa exempt passport then you need either a PR card or Travel Document to return to Canada. The airline won't even let you board the plane to Canada without one of these documents.
