Hi,

I got my PR on June 2019 and made a soft landing on Aug end and stayed for one month and went back to India. Due to Covid I could not go back to Canada during 2020. I am planning to leave in the month of April 2021. My PR card is valid till September 2024 and I know I can cover the 730 days for Residency Obligation if I leave in April.

But will I be stopped at immigration and questioned why I was away from the country for more than a year and is there any other RO that states you cannot stay outside the country for more than a particular duration

Thanks

They may ask but as long as you're not breaking the law with regards to RO then you have nothing to worry about.

I stayed outside Canada after soft landing and travelled multiple times back and forth. The only question they ask you is when do you plan to move here permanently. But no one is going to stop you from entering.

There are many PRs who do this, you should be fine.
