Hi Guys,

Can anyone please advise me on the following for my spouse PR renewal?

1. Do we need to translate stamps from UAE since it already has entry/exit information both in english and arabic?

2. I am a Canadian citizen and until last year we lived together in UAE which fulfilled her residency requirements. Can you guys please advise what documents do i need to include along with the application?

I read on CIC website that the following needs to be provided:

If you were accompanying a family member who is a Canadian citizen:

proof of citizenship for the Canadian citizen you accompanied abroad; and
proof of your relationship to this person; and
proof that your Canadian citizen spouse, common-law partner or parent was outside Canada with you.

Thank you all for your suggestions and advise!

Regards,

AKhan

Guys any updates? I will greatly appreciate any feedback!

I don't know about part 1 (regarding stamp translations). Somebody else would need to answer that.

Regarding the documents (red printed part):
- As proof of your citizenship, you should include either a Canadian birth certificate (if you were born in Canada) or a certificate of Canadian citizenship that shows the date when you became a Canadian citizen. You should have received that certificate at the ceremony. If you don't have it anymore, you can apply for one (but processing might take up to 6 months)
- If you are married, include appropriate documentation of your marriage. If you aren't married things are more complicated and somebody else would have to comment on this, I don't know anything about that.
- proof that you were in the UAE together might be any of the following: The fact that your Passport stamps match, a lease that lists both your names, bills and other documents sent to your common address with both your names on it etc etc. For this part, you should mostly use common sense.

If UAE stamps are in english no need to translate but make sure that dates are readable.
Canadian citizenship proof whatever you have birth certificate or citizenship grant certificate.
Living together proof will be Iqama or UAE id card, health card or driving licence of both of you should be enough.

Thanks @Heeradeepak!

Can you please also advise how i can organize my documents? Would you suggest sending everything in a folder with each section separately labelled or should i just put everything in one envelope as per the checklist?

If the file is complete you can send all documents in a folder or organise it in your way.

Recommended is to follow the sequence of checklist, You can use small sticky notes or divider as per your convenience.
