I submitted on 07-OCT-2025 and I have travel planned for 16-DEC-2025.
Assuming things go good, you should be expecting the final decision around 8-15 NOV. 1-10 DAYS for getting card.

Status update:

Sept 24 applicant.

We mailed your permanent resident card to you. Your card can take up to six weeks to arrive.

Hi! Does your portal updated? Applied last October 21 (i know its still early) but, still shows submitted. Thanks
You won't see any updates in the PR portal.

For status updates - You can try and link your application on the GCKey/IRCC secure account (maybe 20 to 25 days post submission, give or take a week). That is, assuming your renewal application is a simple/straight forward one for approval.

Appreciate your reply! tried to link my PR card application but no results found. Is it because the application still new? I'm worries because I have not received any update from them. I have read other people receiving the card in the mail without any update from the portal. Is this something I should expect? Thank you.

Yes. You can't link your application until someone at IRCC actually opens up your application and looks through/starts processing it (That's the 20 / 25 days thing i was talking about). This is normal.

Sometimes the attempts to link ones application just doesn't ever work for some folks (who knows why). In those cases, yes, people have had the renewed card randomly show up in the mailbox after it's approved, without ever getting any kind of updates throughout the whole process. This also happens often as i understand it.

One thing I'll add so you can double check is -
  • When trying to link it, make sure all the details you're entering are accurate. I've heard this is a mistake some people make which can lead to 'no results found'. The only reason i mention this in your case is - when i first tried this, the system found my old original PR application from years ago, but not the renewal. Then i tried to link again after 3 weeks and the new renewal app showed up in the results found.
  • When i say 'accurate details' - For example: place of birth has to be exactly whatever was on your COPR, UCI number with no spaces or hyphens, date you first became a PR should be the same as the back of your old pr card, etc. etc. (I used the UCI + family name option to link)
  • Sometimes even if the details are accurate it may not ever work for you though (just hard luck i guess). As long as you met your residency obligations comfortably and your application is straightforward with documents uploaded correctly, I wouldn't worry. You can always call ircc to ask the status if you don't get the card in 45-ish days.
