I browsed several different posts already, but I am still not sure about few requirements.

My PR card is going to expire in few weeks(so is my son's, he is 15 years old.) I have gathered most of the documents, but I am not sure about a few requirements.

Quote from CIC site. Applicants under the age of 18
A clear and legible photocopy of one (1) of the following: applicant's birth certificate (showing the applicant's name, date of birth, place of birth and the names of the parents or adoptive parents), or legal documentation proving guardianship, if the applicant has a legal guardian.

Q1. If I am sending my application with my son's, do I still need to include a birth certificate for him in his application? is it only for people that are applying for PR card ? or does it apply to my renew situation as well?

Q2. I was outside of Canada for 1097 days in the past five years(due to family illness); I have been physically present in Canada for 728 days within the past five years, I am physically present in Canada now. Can I still apply for a renewal of PR card?

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply to this!

Q2: Don't send in your application until you have at least 730 residency days in Canada in the last five years.
