(While some might be saying that I am overthinking or something like that but I am trying to get better understanding of the system before applying for immigration and all that.)

As per my understanding, after getting the immigration, you have to enter Canada to validate your visa within some specified time period and then apply PR card and once PR card is received, only then you can exit Canada and return back before it expires \again and apply for renewal or something like that.

a). Is my understanding correct or can anybody please direct me to relevant link where I can get this relevant information?

b). What if I can't wait to get PR card processed on my first entry and have to exit Canada before getting PR card. What would by my status then? Can i reenter Canada w/o PR card?

regards

You can leave Canada anytime you want. Without a PR card you would need to apply for a PRTD. If your PR card arrived while you were outside of Canada (e.g. to a friend's address) then you could arrange to have it sent to you outside of Canada and you wouldn't need a PRTD then.

Your PR status is not tied to the card. The card is just a travel document.
