PR Card not received, been 8 weeks now

Is Canada Post affecting mail services at all? I became a PR September 26 2018, it is now November 21st and been about 8 weeks now. Called CIC several times and the agents all say different things. One person said it will arrive within a week, another said I will not get my card at all and just have to wait.

I have a flight booked for December 20th and need to fly, have another trip booked in Jan 2019 and that's a work trip. Told CIC that this will affect my job but their only response is: Unless you have a family member who's dying, they cannot do anything about processing your PR card.

Can anyone offer any insight into this?

I landed on Sept 6 and got new photo requests last week, so submitted photos now and waiting for the PR cards.

What about you? Did you receive any such email?
 
No, they said they didn't need any photos. I was on hold for 50 minutes and they finally told me my card is "in production", but honestly with Canada Strike going on I doubt I'll receive my PR card anytime soon.

How long have you been waiting for?

got a request to re-submit my photos last week, so resubmitted.
