Hi all, I landed at the end of March and I am still waiting to receive my PR card. How long has it been taking for new residents in Canada?

According to the CIC website, current turnaround times is 45 days (calendar), plus you need to allow a further 10 days for delivery.

They go on to say:

"If it has been more than six weeks longer than the time shown since you applied, and you need more information concerning the status of your application, use the Case Specific Enquiry form."

So by that reckoning, you should get it in the post by mid-May and can't chase them until early July. My wife is in the same boat as we landed to declare PR in mid-April.

It was 50 days for me to get my card. I landed in early March.

6 to 8 weeks

Hi all,
So post landing do we have to apply for PR card or do we have to stay there for few month then we can apply for PR card.
Because my wife will be coming with me as secondary applicant and she can stay there max 10 days ...

When you land and declare PR (i.e 'activate your CoPR'), as long as you can give them a Canadian residential address, they will set your PR Card in motion.

It took us 3 months from landing to receiving the card, despite the '45 days' claim on the website!

One more thing... So in this case both primary and secondary have to be there until they get the PR card

Huh? I don't understand 'primary' and 'secondary'. When the PA lands and activates the CoPR, as long as they have a Canadian residential address, they can ask for the PR Card to be sent there. If you have no such address, you have (IIRC) 3 months (not certain on this) to supply a Canadian address - or pay for a new card.

Hi,

Recently I am granted permanent residency in Canada and made my first landing on 9th March 2018.

Till now (22nd Aug),I have not received my PR card and am not notified for any resubmission of photos. Should I be worried?

Yes, you need to call.
