Hi guys,
I thought when I landed that the Officer filled out the form for my PR card. He said it would take 6-8 weeks for it to come via Canada Post. I landed on April 2, and it has been almost 10 weeks since and I haven't received it yet. I just checked the CIC site but couldnt find a way to check on it. I don't think I need to reapply since the Officer did it when I landed. Is this waiting period normal or is there someone I should call?

You are correct, when you land the Immigration officer fills out the application for your PR card for you.

The current posted processing times for first time PR cards is 72 days and you have now passed that waiting period. I suggest you call CIC call centre and ask them where your card is.

You do not need to reapply.

The processing time is 72 days. You've just hit that now - and that time doesn't include mailing. Give it another week or two before you start worrying.
