Hello All,

My wife, daughter (4 years) and I did the COPR landing in June 2019. We have our Canadian PR cards and both work in US on H1b visa.

We had our son born in Feb 2020. We are planning to settle in Canada by Dec 2021 which will give us enough time to establish 2 out of 5 years.

1) How can we get PR card for our son while we are in US?
2) Can he enter Canada with us on visa exemption (since he was born in the US/has US passport), and once we settle down, we can apply for his PR while we are in Canada?
3) How does the health insurance work out during the time he does not have a PR card?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much!

1. You can't.
2. Yes, he can enter Canada with you as a visitor and then you can apply to sponsor him for PR.
3. Buy private insurance.
