Hi everybody, I was looking for some information regarding my situation and I came across this forum.

Actually, it's my wife's situation. Her PR Card is expiring January 29 and her Conformation of PR expires June 7, 2020. We applied to renew the PR card a few months ago and were hoping the new card would have arrived by now. She has to travel to India ASAP but the card hasn't arrived so I am trying to figure out the options.

I was thinking of booking with an airline that is flexible with booking changes, and booking a return date before January 29. If the PR card arrives before January 29, I could mail it to her or send it with somebody that is going to India, and then change the return booking to a later date.

If the PR card doesn't arrive before January 29, she could keep her existing booking and return before the card expires. Or, she could just change the booking to a later date, and whenever the PR card arrives I could mail it to her. This last option is obviously the most risky.

Would this work? Could there be any issues when she returns because she is returning after her original PR card expired? Could they ask questions about how she got her new PR card since she left the country before it arrived?

If we do this, are there any recommended airlines that are flexible with booking changes? I know Air India is difficult with this.

Thanks in advance.

She can just apply for a PR Travel Document once in India. Problem solved as no need for PR card.

If you do get her PR card and mail it, CBSA won't care one bit. How she got hold of it is completely irrelevant to them.
