PR card expires in 1 month, Applied for Citizenship

Hi folks,

New member here. I have applied for citizenship, received AOR. My PR Card expires in 1 month. I have no plans to travel as such for next 12 months or so. Shall I renew PR card. What are the Pros and Cons of renewing it vs not renewing it?

Any suggestions or insights are helpful.

It’s not necessary to renew it but I assume you’ll still have to provide the expired one when you go for your ceremony so they can dispose of it.

You don't have to renew your PR card BUT..it's better to have it handy in case of emergency and you need to go home or out of the country.

Other people are stuck outside of Canada because they didn't renew WP or PR card right away.
