I was a minor at 13 years when i can to canada as a landed immigrate to my mother. my grandmother was dying and asked to see me before she passed. my mother let me go to see her for a week and be back. That was the end of me not coming back to Canada because my father that i did not know and was not i my life took me away. I had no contact with my mother till 2 months ago.I am now 22 years and i need to re-unite with my mother because i am the only child and my father has being abusive to me.I live in Canada from march 2004 -august 2005. I need help as to what i can do about my pr card that has expired 2 years ago.

Apply for a travel document at a Canadian embassy in your country. Say that you were removed from Canada as a minor child by your father against your will and now you want to return. If you get the travel document and you have a pretty good chance, then you can return to Canada.

To add to Leon's post if you are a nationality/ citizenship that is visa exempt for Canada e.g. USA then travel to Canada with your national passport and the expired PR. The CBSA officer at the port of entry will establish you are a PR and ask you when you left Canada. Explain your circumstances and you may get let in without a report being made that you lost your PR status. Even if a report is made then you can appeal while in Canada.

If you are not visa exempt then apply for the TD. There is a section in the form that asks you to list compassionate reasons for the visa officer to consider.

If the TD route doesn't work out your mother can to sponsor you as a dependent child while you are still 22 or if older you remain in full time education.

Good luck
