Hi there, I would like to ask

1) if I am flying to Canada in coming April to apply for my PR card (I have already received the confirmed of PR) and I’m currently residing outside Canada, am I allowed to fly to Canada in person to apply for the PR card then leave Canada and use my friend’s canadian address so that the pr card can be mailed to her and she can pass it to me thereafter?

2) Alternatively, can I find an immigration lawyer to help me receive the pr card while I’m not in Canada?

No one but the border officer you encountered can make the decision of either option. You might be told to apply for the card when you have an address.
