Thought I’d start a new thread to keep track of the current processing and wait times for the first PR card, especially now that there’s quite a backlog of mail due to the CP strikes.

Landed: November 17
POE: Coutts/Sweetgrass border
Province of destination: Nova Scotia
Linked PR card to GCKey: November 19
GCKey updated to approved: waiting
PR card received: waiting

I am abroad with my husband (he was the applicant) until January so can't call from out of country.

we should keep in mind that Canada Post is on strike and this is causing a delay... with many things...

Use your UCI and family name, DOB as you did when linking your application. For me, writing everything in caps worked.

Can inland applicants link the the PR card status as well? I have looked into it but it seems like the application number does not apply (different category)

Yes. You have to use your UCI not the application number (the app number for a PR card is different)

But when I go on the linking page it asked for both the UCI and the Application Number though. I have tried play around with it, and it seem like I will have to enter in somehow.. (which I don't think I've ever received one)

You can choose UCI and family name, and can link your PR card application after you have landed

Thank you so much! So I just went back again, and it seemed like I missed the option.

I have successfully linked the application to the account now!

What does it mean if it says 'Pending registration'

It’s just a normal status before they start processing the application. Please share your timeline

My wife landed in the Etobicoke CIC Office on Oct 2, 2018.

So it's been almost 2 month (counting weekends) to date.

Use your UCI and family name, DOB as you did when linking your application. For me, writing everything in caps worked.

I have used UCI and family name and still the same answer "no found application".

I believe that city of birth might be the issue, on my COPR it says SETE LAGOAS/M. I've tried cap letters, small, with and without slash but no success.
