PR approved, but work permit extension still pending

hello,

My PR application has been approved as well as received copr and passport. But my work permit extension application that I submitted after PR app. is still pending. I'm currently on implied status.

I got an update yesterday that they reviewing my eligibility for work permit app. What happens to my work permit app? does it get approved or cancelled?

Edited: I have not performed landing procedure yet.

Hi,

You will no longer need the work permit. I would suggest calling CIC or raising a webform to see if there is a way for them to cancel that application and process a refund. I would also suggest that you perform landing as soon as possible.

Yeah I'll try calling CIC tomorrow. I read somewhere that once they start working on the application, they won't refund the fees (which is fine, not too concerned about that piece).

I'm planning to perform landing procedure next weekend by road since I live close to border.
