Hi All

I had submitted my spouse'S PR application to CPC Missisauga 3 weeks back (outland application). Do we get any acknowledgment of the receipt of the same? how many days does it take to receive the acknowledgment letter and for the approval of the sponsorship??

Hope to hear from you guys soon....

It took 6 weeks before we got our letter from CPC-M

Hi HeatherUSA.. thanks for the response.. so is the 6 weeks for the sponsorship approval or Just the confirmation/acknowledgment that the application is received? I read from the CIC website that the approval/disapproval happens in less than 40 days? Is it true in your case?

Look to hear from you, Thx

you will not get an AOR from mississauga, which is why most people send it via a method that requires a signature so you know it was received. Your first notification will usually come on e-cas with Decision Made, and then you'll receive a letter a week or so later which will tell you the decision.

Check the July thread to see how long it is taking people go get their sponsorship approval from mississauga.

That was 6 weeks to get a letter stating that sponsorship has been approved... we did not get any notice that the application had been received but we did send the app Fed Ex with a signature receipt.

I sent my application in on May 18/10 and CIC Mississauga received it the next day. I received a letter that was dated June 23/10 that the sponsorship was approved and the file was sent on to the processing office where my husband lives. I don't know what the timeline is currently but you will receive a letter once the sponsorship has been approved

the AOR letter (Acknowledgement of Receipt) will come from the processing office where your spouse lives once they receive the file and start processing it. ecas online for us says the file is in process but my husband has not yet received the AOR letter.

Just to clarify, do they receive your application and then send you a letter with your Client ID, etc. to check the status online, or how does that work exactly?

they receive your application and then send you a letter with your client ID. You can check the status online afterward by using the client ID.

If you have a receipt for sponorship fees you can try to use that to sign in online but it didn't ever work for me and still doesn't. Only the client ID works for me.

What others have said is correct, there is no acknowledgement of receipt, the first letter you will recieve will be your sponsorship approval (or in some cases denial?).

For clarification, the number on the sponsorship approval is the sponsor's client ID and will need to be acompanied by the sponsor's info (date of birth, place of birth, etc) in order to log on to e-CAS. To log in with the applicant's info - you will need your file number.

Did you use the sponsor's DOB and info to enter, because that worked for us.

Thanks all for the valuable feedback.

I had sent my application via canada speed post. I had sent it on 21 July. I checked it canada post online that the application is successfully delivered on 23 afternoon.

How to check the status in E-cas? which fields to enter? I tried different options like PR number(The number at the back of my PR card), client ID number (xxxx-xxxx format- the one I see on the front side of my PR card) but I dont get to see the status... which ones to try out?

They may not have you on their system yet if they have not processed your application. Wait a week or two. I wasn't on the system until I received my letter so perhaps it will be the same for you.
