PR application filed through Express Entry. No result so far. Travel outside country

Hi,
I have filed for the PR in Canada using the express entry. The application was filed on February 4, 2019 and so far, only biometric status shows completed. I an Indian citizen living in USA on H1B and my wife is on H4
Since we filed the application me and my wife have not traveled outside USA. We are assuming that traveling outside will require another background check. Is it true ?

We did not make any travel plans for the last 6 months as we expected the application to be approved within the 6 months SLA. But now it is looking improbable and we are fine waiting but we have plans to travel to India in another two months. If it is not recommended is there any way we can get approval from Canada immigration office?
