Hi all,

The CIC website says the following about the certified photocopies:

A photocopy of an original document. It must be readable and certified as a true copy of the original by an authorized person. The person compares the documents and marks on the photocopy:
  • their name and signature
  • their position or title
  • the name of the original document
  • the date they certified the document
  • the phrase “I certify that this is a true copy of the original document.”
It says the name of the original document should be written too. The problem is that I asked multiple notaries to certify my copies, and they said they had a specific template they followed, it didn't include the name (just some generic message like “I certify that this is a true copy of the original document.”) and they could not make changes to it. Is it very important to include the name into the letter from a notary? Would it be enough to have the name on the English translation?

Thanks everyone!
